Massage Therapy
Do you believe in massage therapy? I am going to say i really believe because when i was in the Philippines i always have my back massage. If i have fever or i always cough due to cold or something i feel good after the massage. Some people doesn't like massage just like hubby. But i always tell hubby that i will massage his back when he is very tired. I did massage him and he said he feel good. Before i also came here in US i let the massager or we call there "manghihilot" meaning massager massage my tummy to check if my ovary is in right position because of course i want to have a baby. She told me that my ovary is not in the right position if i got pregnant it is easy to be miscarriage. I want to have a baby so i told her to fix it. She did fix it and it hurt a little bit but the result i have a baby. Lots of my friends knows about this believe me but some is just smiling. Did you believe such thing like this?

Facts of Onions
Wide-ranging claims have been made for the effectiveness of onions against conditions ranging from the common cold to heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and other diseases. They contain chemical compounds believed to have anti-inflammatory, anticholesterol, anticancer, and antioxidant properties such as quercetin. However, it has not been demonstrated that increased consumption of onions is directly linked to health benefits.
In many parts of the world, onions are used to heal blisters and boils. A traditional Maltese remedy for sea urchin wounds is to tie half a baked onion to the afflicted area overnight. In the morning, the spikes will be in the onion.[citation needed] In the United States, products that contain onion extract are used in the treatment of topical scars; some studies have found their action to be ineffective, while others found that they may act as an anti-inflammatory or bacteriostatic and can improve collagen organization in rabbits.
Onions may be especially beneficial for women, who are at increased risk for osteoporosis as they go through menopause, by destroying osteoclasts so that they do not break down bone.

Facts Of Garlic
Dont you know that garlic has a lot of use? This is what i found in Mr. Wiki...
Garlic has been used as both food and medicine in many cultures for thousands of years, dating at least as far back as the time that the Egyptian pyramids were built. Garlic is claimed to help prevent heart disease including atherosclerosis, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and cancer. Animal studies, and some early investigational studies in humans, have suggested possible cardiovascular benefits of garlic. A Czech study found garlic supplementation reduced accumulation of cholesterol on vascular walls of animals.
Another study had similar results, with garlic supplementation significantly reducing aortic plaque deposits of cholesterol-fed rabbits.
Another study showed that supplementation with garlic extract inhibited vascular calcification in human patients with high blood cholesterol.
The known vasodilative effect of garlic is possibly caused by catabolism of garlic-derived polysulfides to hydrogen sulfide in red blood cells, a reaction that is dependent on reduced thiols in or on the RBC membrane. Hydrogen sulfide is an endogenous cardioprotective vascular cell signaling molecule.
However, a randomized clinical trial funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States of America and published in Archives of Internal Medicine in 2007 found that the consumption of garlic in any form did not reduce blood cholesterol levels in patients with moderately high baseline cholesterol levels. With regard to this clinical trial, theheart.org reports: Despite decades of research suggesting that garlic can improve cholesterol profiles, a new NIH-funded trial found absolutely no effects of raw garlic or garlic supplements on LDL, HDL, or triglycerides... The findings underscore the hazards of meta-analyses made up of small, flawed studies and the value of rigorously studying popular herbal remedies.

Virgin Olive Oil
Don't you know that virgin olive oil is the healthy oil and even thats the one use in the old times? According to Sue Radd, a nutritionist that to get more antioxidants, use extra virgin olive oil raw to flavor salads, or drizzle on steamed vegetables, such as asparagus or endive (Greeks also add lemon juice). You can cook with olive oil, but studies show that the higher the temperature and the longer the cooking time, the more antioxidants you lose. Stewing is better than swallow frying, especially over extended periods. If you choose to deep fry, extra virgin oil is more stable, as it has a high oleic acid content, and the antioxidants retard the harmful changes that occur when polyunsaturated vegetables oils are used. Store your oil in a dark cupboard, as exposure to light or heat destroys the antioxidants and hasten rancidity.

Lettuce For salads
There are 4 types of green it is good to put in your salad. According to Susan Moores, from American Dietic Association the deeper the color of lettuce the more vitamins and nutrients you can get. Here are they:
Romaine - is a good source of vitamins A and C and is packed with folate, which helps prevent birth defects. It also contains the phytonutrients lutein and zeaxanthin, which promote eye health.

Popcorns
This is one of the question i found in readers digest:
I read that the chemicals in microwave popcorn are dangerous. Are they?
You can continue to eat your favorite movie munchie without fear, says the FDA. The chemical in question is diacetyl, used to make butter flavoring. Recently, a number of factory workers who work near heated vats of the flavoring developed lung disease. This prompted an EPA study, the results of which are due later.
Diacetyl is found naturally in real butter and it's safe to eat, says George Pauli, the FDA's acting director of food additive safety. But at industrial levels, when large amounts of hot vapors containing diacetyl are breathed in for extended periods, it may damage delicate lung tissue.
Bottom line: The amount of diacetyl released from individual bags is so small that there's no evidence it poses any risk, says Pauli.

Health Info
Hubby hand me a paper from our city and the message states the health info that i want to share here.
Did you know that most sanitary sewer backups occur between your home and the city's sewer main?
You can help prevent a costly and unsanitary overflow by following a few simple steps:
DO...
1. Scrape excess grease into a container and dispose of it as solid waste in the garbage.
2. Place food scraps in waste containers or garbage bags for disposal with solid waste, or start a compost pile.
3. Place a wastebasket in the bathroom to dispose of solid waste, disposable diapers, and personal hygiene products that do not belong in the sewer system.
4. Promote the concept of "3Rs",
REDUCE, REUSE, AND RECYCLE.
DO NOT....
1. Pour fats, oils, and grease from cooking down the drain.
2. Use toilet as a waste paper basket.
3. Use the sewer as a means of disposing of waste food.
Hope you enjoy reading my blog....See you...
